The leader went out pretty fast, but he was wearing a speedo and I told myself I couldn't let him win since he wasn't naked. I am not a stellar 5k runner, I do more long distance (30k, 50k) and haven't been competitive in 5ks since high school (20 years ago). The actual course was pretty tough, with a good amount of elevation change. I warmed up and by the time the race was ready to start, there were only a handful of people wearing clothes.

A few minutes later, I almost completely forgot or failed to care that I was bare. But seconds after I overcame that, it all became natural. Again, everything in my brain started screaming out that this was not right. The hardest part of the entire day was stripping down. I know his wife, and she got to talking to me and really put me at ease. There was Ron (race director) with no pants on. A bunch of people were clothed at that point, with one or two warming up in the buff.
#NUDE RUN AT SUNNY REST RESORT REGISTRATION#
I walked to the registration table clothed. It was fairly chilly out, with overcast skies, which also made me want to stay dressed. (I was raised in a pretty conservative family). Everything in my head kept telling me how awkward it was going to be, how ashamed I would be, etc. I was very nervous on the drive there, and still going back and forth about how I was going to run. It was my first time being naked in public, and it was a very interesting day. I attended the Wiggle, Jiggle, Giggle 5k this past weekend at Sunny Rest.
